Homeward bound!

stephvandyke

Today is number 38 on the road, and the day we finally arrive home. We will return well rested having stayed in a couple of cozy cool hotels (Loge Camps) on the last two legs of our journey. We had originally discovered Loge Camps at a music festival in Leavenworth last Janurary (though less than a year ago, that awesome weekend seems like many years ago!) This PNW chain is our cup of tea - camping-centric hotels which provided us all the comforts of a traditional hotel and more - with few of the risks.

We had been hesitant to stay in hotels this entire trip due to virus trends, but this place handles everything safely via text message. From check in via a texted code and key pad to check out, we never had to interact with another human. A motor-lodge type setting with an outdoor entry to each unit means no need to pass people in corridors. Public lounge spaces are all outdoors: fire pits and dog play areas, free bike rentals and a tune up station, even a shared outdoor kitchen with traeger grills at the ready. We liked our Shasta stay so much that we found another on our route home, in Bend, OR. Their brand across all of their properties is pet friendly, camping vibes, and hammocks in each room. We'll be visiting one of their other locations soon (as in at the end of this month, for a socially distanced NYE trip in Westport, Washington with our favorite Seattle-ites).

And now, to reconnect with home!
